Summertime in Murfreesboro is a lot of fun with plenty of fun and family-friendly events going on every weekend – many of them free or inexpensive! Here are a few of the highlights that I found:

Celebration Under the Stars

July 4th All Day

Sports*Com and McKnight Park

The day begins at Sports*Com at 10am and goes until 4:30pm with a pool party, games and prizes. Admission is $3 for youth and seniors and $4 for adults. The events at McKnight Park begin at 3:30pm with the live band “Audio Saints” and admission is free. From 5-8pm there will be family activities and inflatables and at 8pm the Murfreesboro Symphony Orchestra Choir will present patriotic tunes.

Following, the Murfreesboro Symphony will play during the fireworks at 9pm.

USTRC Team Roping Eastern Championships

July 7th through 9th at 8am daily

The whole family will enjoy watching teams of two horse/riders work together to rope cattle in the fastest time. Admission is free.

Friday Night Live

July 7th at 6:30pm

Main Street’s 2017 Concert Series features the band “Entice” in Murfreesboro’s Historic Downtown Public Square. This is a free event the whole family will enjoy!

Adult Soccer Fest

July 12th to 16th

Come out to play or to watch! The event offers age divisions for play all the way up to “Over 70” divisions. Each team is guaranteed 3 games with a maximum of 5 games played per team.

50th Annual Murfreesboro Antique Show

July 14th to 16th at 10am

Admission is $7 and gets you access to some of the best antique dealers from around the country!

July Jamboree Picnic

July 14th at 6:30pm

Oaklands Mansion is offering a picnic-style party featuring The Knott Brothers Band, Uncle Bud’s chicken and catfish and spirits from local vendors. Admission is $75 per person and includes food and drink.

International Grand Championship Walking Horse Show

July 21st to 29th

The best walking horses in the country will compete for various championships! Admission is free.
